On Thrsday, we’ll head out early in your private safari vehicle to catch the Serengeti as it wakes up. Today is a particularly big day, as we have the opportunity to head out for a full-day game drive. Our main goal will be to reach the river and attempt to witness a crossing—a rare, once-in-a-lifetime sight as the herds navigate the water. If you choose a shorter morning loop, you'll spend the few hours tracking everything from giraffes to lions before heading back to the Meliá Serengeti Lodge. A fresh Glatt Kosher lunch will be waiting there, leaving the afternoon open for everyone to relax, enjoy the lodge's views, and just unwind. In the evening, we’ll all gather for a Glatt Kosher dinner to swap stories about the day's sightings and the river crossing.
Day 6
This special Friday dawns with an extraordinary opportunity for those who choose to embark on an optional hot air balloon safari,(additional $599 pp) rising silently with the sun to witness the Serengeti awaken beneath you, a breathtaking panorama of wildlife and endless plains bathed in golden light. After this unforgettable aerial adventure, you will return to the Meliá Serengeti Lodge, arriving back in good time to begin a peaceful transition into Shabbat. The afternoon will be dedicated to quiet relaxation and personal preparations, ensuring a serene start to the holy day for the entire family. As the sun begins its gentle descent, casting warm hues across the vast landscape, you will gather for the sacred candle lighting, a moment of profound tranquility and connection amidst the African wilderness. Enjoy your last breakfast in Serengeti at the lodge and take in the plains one more time before checking out. We’ll turn the drive to the Seronera Airstrip into a final mini-safari, giving you one last chance to spot wildlife on your way out. From there, you’ll catch a short flight to Arusha, where a driver will meet you for the private transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home.
