Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking a safari with The Kosher Safari. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Definitions

"The Kosher Safari", "we", "us", or "our" refers to The Kosher Safari, a company registered in South Africa. "Client", "you", or "your" refers to the person making the booking.

2. Bookings & Deposits

  • A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a signed booking form and a non-refundable deposit (typically 30% of the total trip cost).
  • The balance is due no later than 60 days before departure.
  • Bookings made within 60 days of departure require full payment at time of booking.

3. Cancellations by the Client

Cancellations must be received in writing. The following charges apply:

  • More than 90 days before departure: Loss of deposit only
  • 60–90 days before departure: 50% of total trip cost
  • 30–59 days before departure: 75% of total trip cost
  • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of total trip cost

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation.

4. Cancellations by The Kosher Safari

In exceptional circumstances (force majeure, government travel advisories, natural disasters), we reserve the right to cancel or modify itineraries. We will offer alternative dates or a full refund. We are not liable for additional costs incurred (e.g. flights, visas).

5. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices include accommodation, kosher meals, game drives, and mashgiach supervision as specified in your proposal.
  • Prices exclude international flights, visas, travel insurance, personal spending, and gratuities unless explicitly included.
  • We reserve the right to adjust pricing due to significant currency fluctuations or supplier cost changes prior to deposit payment.

6. Kashrut Standards

We maintain mehadrin kosher standards throughout all our trips. Specific kashrut requirements (e.g. chalav Yisrael, yoshon, pas Yisrael) must be communicated at time of booking. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate specific halachic requirements, but cannot guarantee availability of all items in all remote locations.

7. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance — including medical evacuation cover — is mandatory for all clients. You must provide proof of insurance before departure. We accept no liability for costs arising from inadequate insurance.

8. Health & Medical

You are responsible for ensuring you are fit to travel and for obtaining any required vaccinations or malaria prophylaxis. Please disclose any relevant medical conditions at time of booking so we can advise accordingly.

9. Liability

The Kosher Safari acts as an agent for hotels, lodges, transport operators, and other suppliers. We are not liable for acts, omissions, or negligence of third-party suppliers. Our liability for any claim is limited to the total amount paid for the tour. We are not liable for personal injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to personal property.

10. Behaviour & Conduct

We reserve the right to terminate a client's participation in a tour if their behaviour is disruptive, dangerous, or incompatible with the halachic standards of the group, without any refund.

11. Photography & Marketing

We may photograph and film our tours for marketing purposes. By booking with us, you consent to your image being used in our promotional materials. You may opt out by notifying us in writing before departure.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
